| Plug
in more servers as you need |
| Unlike
most other storage vendors, Intransa
IP SAN system does not charge
for access right. |
| Simultaneous
access for 128 (max.) servers |
| Intransa
IP SAN solution allows simultaneous
access to 128 servers maximum.
There is absolutely no charge
for such privilege. |
| Increase
storage space by simply adding
more disk enclosures |
Servers
with direct attached storage (DAS)
are inapt in dealing with disk
storage space increases. Traditionally,
the servers are required to be
taken off-line, data are then
backed up, more disk drives connected,
and disk drives re-partitioned.
IP SAN enables on-line capacity
expansion. There is no requirement
to shut down any equipment. Simple
connect more disk enclosures,
and logically link the new storage
space to existing system and more
storage space is readily available.

| Improve
performance by adding additional
controllers |
| Improving
IP SAN performance is also a simple
task. Add the additional controller
and take it on line. Test results
from Intransa show that doubling
the number of controllers will
nearly double the performance,
with load balancing features so
that no single controller will
be driven into saturation. |
| Flexible
partition expansion as and when
required |
| Virtualization
software (included) allows easy
drag and drop partition expansion.
|
| Fast
data throughput enabled by iSCSI
and Gigabit technologies |
iSCSI
technology allow the SCSI (Small
Computer System Interface) signals
to ride on Ethernet signal.
Enabling fast data exchange
between disk storage units through
Ethernet lines. Presently, the
fastest available data bus technology
is SCSI U320, running at approx
320MBps or 3200Mbps. ATA and
SATA technology bus speed are
133MBps (1330Mbps) and 150MBps
(1500Mbps) respectively. Gigabit
technology allows data transfer
rate at 1 Gigabit bits per second
(1000Mbps) giving data the unprecedented
wide highway. 10 Gigabit Ethernet
technology is presently being
planned |
